Michael is a repeating finalist from 2021 and now is in the 2025 American Pianists Awards and will be competing for the Christel DeHaan Classical Fellowship. By virtue of their selection from a pool of nominations from over 1,200 industry professionals, each pianist has been awarded a $25,000 prize. In April 2025, the winner will receive career support valued at more than $200,000, including two years of career management and public relations assistance, a media tour, an artist residency at the University of Indianapolis, a recording contract with Steinway & Sons record label, performance engagements both nationally and abroad, and more.

Michael recently won 3rd Place and Orchestra Prize in the Marguerite Long–Jacques Thibaud International Piano Competition in Paris, France.
